The Jewel Body

Lately, I have been having the subjective impression that my body is made of a collection of precious gems, notably diamonds, and also of precious metals, notably molten gold. It is an odd impression, but not the result of imagination, only of sensation. It is an impression that comes upon one at different times, and then leaves when consciousness moves to more compelling subject matter.

The sense that goes along with this is a kind of internal electricity or warmth, and also a sense of compelling aloneness in the sense of an inclusive aloneness. As well, an inexhaustible creative power is always the companion to such feelings.

You can find mention of precious metals and gems in alchemical literature, and in the case of gold, it is almost universally related to the creative life-force, also to the sun, and as well to positive pole of electricity versus silver, which is commonly related to the negative pole of magnetism.

It seems like the body, as it - with the mind and spirit - undergo purification through God's grace, through abstinence, through food, through forms of exercise and mental discipline, transforms itself into a form made of higher substances. Obviously, I would not expect to find diamonds and gold nuggets inside of my body anywhere, but perhaps there is a pattern of similarity between the inner refinement and the subconscious mind that causes the image of "diamond" or "gold" to arise as a similar in order to understand the sensation.
